The Capitol Coffee Connection Podcast

Real Conversations. Human Moments. Unexpected Joy.

The Capitol Coffee Connection Podcast (TCCCP) is a series of heartfelt conversations I have with elected leaders from across the country—focused not on politics or policy, but on their personal stories, values, and humanity. These are casual, inspiring, and often revealing glimpses into who our leaders really are.

I launched this podcast two years ago to better understand the people behind the titles. In Season 1, we released 49 episodes featuring a wide range of leaders—from House Majority Leader Steve Scalise to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Every episode highlights the leader’s background, best (and worst) advice, favorite foods, music, books—and a few fun surprises along the way. They're all “evergreen,” and worth going back to explore.

Now in Season 2, I’ve recently recorded conversations with Rep. Don Bacon, Rep. Susie Lee, Senator Susan Collins, Senator Reverand Raphael Warnock, Governor Phil Murphy, and Governor Wes Moore, among others. Whether recorded in person or virtually, each episode runs about 20–30 minutes and offers an authentic look into the lives and hearts of the diverse leaders who shape our country.

Shortly after launching TCCCP, my life changed dramatically following the October 7 terror attack that devastated my family. I often say I went to sleep on October 6 a Democrat—and woke up on October 7 an American. Since then, I’ve traveled the world advocating for the release of hostages and working with leaders from both parties at the highest levels of government. In this painful and transformative journey, I’ve seen firsthand the deep humanity of our elected officials and the power of connection in times of crisis.

What began as a podcast has become a mission—to center heart and humanity in a world overwhelmed by headlines, division, and noise. These episodes are a reminder that we have more in common than we think—and that’s what connects us.

So turn off the 24/7 news cycle—and tune in for something different. Tune in for connection, for laughter, for insight, and for hope. Think of it as having coffee with America’s leaders—talking, listening, and sharing joy.
